Emergency plumber

24 hour plumber for Southend emergencies

A split pipe or water coming through a ceiling won't wait until Monday. Call 07830 356263 and you speak directly to a plumber, not a call centre. We aim to reach urgent call-outs within about an hour, depending on where you are and what we are already attending.

We regularly attend:

  • Burst and frozen pipes
  • Leaks through ceilings and walls
  • Overflowing and blocked toilets
  • Blocked sinks backing up
  • No water or sudden loss of pressure
  • Leaking cylinders and immersion heaters
  • Stopcocks that won't turn off
  • Leaking radiator valves

What to do while you wait

  1. Turn off the water at the stopcock, usually under the kitchen sink.
  2. If water is near lights or sockets, switch off the electricity at the consumer unit if it is safe to reach.
  3. Open the cold taps to drain the pipes and reduce the leak.
  4. Move valuables and electricals out of the way, and catch drips with buckets or towels.
  5. Take photos for your insurer or landlord.

Smell gas? Leave the property, don't use light switches or naked flames, and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.

FAQs

Plumbing questions we're often asked

Do you offer a 24 hour emergency plumber in Southend-on-Sea?

Yes. We take emergency calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week, across Southend-on-Sea, Leigh-on-Sea, Westcliff, Shoeburyness, Rochford and the surrounding towns. For a burst pipe, a leak through the ceiling or an overflowing toilet, call 07830 356263 rather than using the form.

How quickly can a plumber get to me?

For genuine emergencies we aim to reach you within about an hour, depending on where you are and what we are already attending. Non-urgent repairs are booked in at a time that suits you. We will always give you an honest idea of timing on the phone.

How much does a plumber cost in Southend?

On hourly-rate jobs there is a minimum charge that covers the first hour. After that, time is charged in 15-minute blocks, so you only pay for the time the job takes. If a part isn't on the van, the time spent collecting it is capped at an extra 30 minutes of labour. We explain the price before any work starts, and you can pay by debit or credit card.

What should I do while I wait for an emergency plumber?

Turn off the water at the stopcock. If water is near lights or sockets, switch the electricity off at the consumer unit if it is safe to reach. Then open the cold taps to drain the pipes, move valuables out of the way, catch drips in buckets or towels and take photos for your insurer or landlord.

Where is my stopcock?

In most homes the internal stopcock is under the kitchen sink. If it isn't there, look in a downstairs toilet or utility room, under the stairs or wherever the water pipe comes up through the floor. In flats it can be in a hallway cupboard or airing cupboard. Turn it clockwise to shut off the water. If it is seized or won't close fully, we can replace it.

Are your plumbers qualified?

Yes. Our plumbers hold City & Guilds Level 2 plumbing qualifications and are DBS-checked. We also hold ERS accreditation for unvented hot water cylinders. We are a limited company (company number 11202501), registered since 2018.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months. If something we fitted or repaired gives you trouble in that time, call us and we will come back and put it right.

Do you work on boilers?

We cover the plumbing side of your heating and hot water: radiators and radiator valves, leaks on heating pipework, hot water cylinders and immersion heaters. Work on the gas side of a boiler must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, so describe the fault when you call and we will tell you straight away whether it is something we can fix.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Rochford and cover all of Southend-on-Sea, including Leigh-on-Sea, Westcliff, Chalkwell, Southchurch, Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness, plus Rayleigh, Hockley, Benfleet, Canvey Island, Basildon and more. See the full list on our areas we cover page.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We work for homeowners, landlords, letting agents and commercial premises, and we take on insurance work. We can attend out of hours to keep disruption to tenants or trading to a minimum.
